July Letter from the director

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we welcome the height of summer, I want to take a moment to thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the mission of the Central Topeka Grocery Oasis. This July, our team is filled with renewed energy and determination as we continue working to bring a full-service grocery store back to the heart of Central Topeka.

Over the past few months, we’ve made more progress with community partners, grocers, and local officials; we’ve transitioned our Board of Directors with new members and a board chair; and most importantly, we’ve kept the voices of our neighbors at the center of every decision. Your belief in this project, whether through donations, advocacy, or simply spreading the word, has been instrumental in keeping our momentum strong.

In this season of growth, we’re planting seeds for collaboration and community. From working with local leaders to engaging potential grocery operators, we are laying the foundation for something truly transformative. We know that access to healthy, affordable food is not just a basic need; it is a matter of dignity, equity, and economic opportunity.

As we move forward, we’ll continue to keep you updated and involved. Whether it’s upcoming community events, fundraising milestones, or grocer updates, we are committed to transparency and partnership every step of the way.
