Easy Bean & Rice Skillet: 5-Ingredient Warm Dinner

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup of rice (white or brown)

  2. 1 can of black beans (drained and rinsed)

  3. 1 cup salsa (any kind)

  4. 1 cup shredded cheese (optional but tasty)

  5. 1 teaspoon taco seasoning or cumin/chili powder


Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package directions.

  2. In a skillet or pot, combine beans + salsa + seasoning.

  3. Heat for 5–7 minutes until warm.

  4. Stir in cooked rice.

  5. Top with cheese and let it melt before serving.


Serving ideas

  • Serve with tortillas or cornbread

  • Add a side of frozen veggies if available

  • Top with sour cream or avocado (optional)
