This past Sunday, May 18, our Executive Director, Nadia Arbelo, was honored to attend worship and fellowship at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Central Topeka. The visit was part of CTGO’s ongoing commitment to stay connected with the community we serve and to ensure that every voice has the opportunity to help shape the future of our upcoming grocery store.
Nadia shared updates on some exciting progress at CTGO—everything from new grant opportunities and fundraising successes to the addition of passionate new board members and deeper community partnerships. She also offered a glimpse into the internal growth happening behind the scenes as we prepare to open a store that’s more than just a store—it’s a community hub and a model for change.
During the service and the warm conversations that followed, Nadia gathered invaluable feedback from members of the congregation about their needs, hopes, and visions for the grocery store. Trinity Presbyterian’s members expressed real enthusiasm—not only about our growing momentum, but also about seeing real architectural plans and site designs that signal this project is moving from dream to reality.
Perhaps most exciting were the new connections made during the visit. Nadia was introduced to individuals involved with local foundations and invited to follow up for deeper conversations around funding and collaboration. Ideas for community partnerships bloomed during the gathering, laying groundwork for relationships that will help strengthen CTGO’s mission.
As always, we are grateful for the warm welcome and support from our community. We left Trinity Presbyterian Church more energized than ever, inspired by shared values, and committed to creating a grocery store that reflects the heart and hopes of Central Topeka.
Stay tuned—we’re building something beautiful, together.
