April Message From the Director

Dear Friends and Supporters,
As we step into April, we are reminded of the beauty and promise that spring brings. This is a
season of planting, growth, and new beginnings—a time when gardens begin to bloom, and
communities come alive with fresh energy and hope for what is ahead. At Central Topeka
Grocery Oasis, this spirit of renewal reflects the work we do every day to cultivate a healthier,
more resilient Central Topeka.
Spring also highlights the importance of local food systems and the power of community gardens to bring neighbors together. These shared spaces not only provide fresh produce but also strengthen connections, encourage wellness, and remind us of the value of investing in sustainable solutions close to home.
As we recognize Earth Day later this month, CTGO remains committed to building a grocery
initiative that supports both community health and long-term sustainability. Access to nutritious food is deeply connected to environmental stewardship, local partnerships, and the well-being of future generations.
We are also excited for the months ahead, with upcoming events and community engagement opportunities that will keep residents and supporters connected to CTGO’s progress. We look forward to sharing more details soon and hope you will join us as we continue moving this vision forward together.
Thank you for being part of this growing effort. With your support, we are planting seeds for
lasting change in Central Topeka.
With gratitude,
Nadia Arbelo
